Alittle bit about them:
Established in 1914 and funded through federal, state, and county partnerships, the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) provides non-formal educational opportunities to rural and urban youth and adults of all economic levels and ethnic backgrounds. County-based advisors in 63 local offices are linked with research programs and expertise through Cooperative Extension Specialists who are members of the UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources on the Berkeley, Davis, and Riverside campuses. Part of UCCE's mission has always been to develop culturally-sensitive outreach programs in family and consumer sciences, specifically targeted toward lower- and moderate-income families and toward those who are first- and second-generation Americans. A broad spectrum of financial topics has traditionally been an essential component of UCCE programs designed to improve the economic well-being and quality of living for all Californians. This web site was developed by the UCCE Money Talks Workgroup with outside funding from the JP Morgan Chase Foundation's Financial Literacy Program. We wish to thank the JP Morgan Chase Foundation for their generosity and their concern about the future of today's youth.
This site looks like it would attract the younger audience we would be teaching. Do you think they would take the time to read through the pdf files? Or, would students rather utilize a more interactive site.
ReplyDeleteIn all, I think it has great information that will be helpful to them.
Great find!
I let my students visit and the site is true to its title
ReplyDeleteThe site also was very appealing to my adult students. Many do not have any experience in personal financial management, so this was a hot topic for class. Hopefully they will all enroll in my class next semester.
